เมื่อวันที่ 5 มิถุนายน 2561 นายเชิดเกียรติ อัตถากร เอกอัครราชทูตวิสามัญผู้มีอำนาจเต็มแห่งราชอาณาจักรไทยประจำสาธารณรัฐเซาท์ซูดาน ถิ่นพำนัก ณ กรุงไนโรบี ได้พบหารือกับนาย David Shearer ผู้แทนพิเศษเลขาธิการสหประชาชาติประจำเซาท์ซูดานและหัวหน้าปฏิบัติการรักษาสันติภาพของสหประชาชาติในเซาท์ซูดาน (UNMISS) โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของเจ้าหน้าที่ทหารและตำรวจไทยในปฏิบัติการรักษาสันติภาพของสหประชาชาติในเซาท์ซูดาน
On 5 June 2018, His Excellency Mr. Cherdkiat Atthakor, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of South Sudan, with residence in Nairobi, had a meeting with Mr. David Shearer, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General (SRSG) for South Sudan and Head of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). They discussed about the role of Thailand in UNMISS.
